Coming Up...

St. Luke Women of the ELCA will turn the spotlight on Service through Creative Arts at a morning Open House on October 18—9AM through Noon. The community is invited to view the handwork of members who knit, crochet, and sew. Samples of quilts, baptismal banners, nappies, preemie caps, prayer shawls and lap blankets, altar paraments and banners, and surgery pillows will be on view. For those who always wanted to try their hand at knitting or crocheting, instruction will be available from patient teachers. The culinary arts and music arts will be featured as well.

_______

All are invited to Celebration Worship including Holy Communion with the Rite of Healing on October 18 and 19. Pastor Ben Larzelere will lead the 5 PM Service on October 18; Pastor Russ Sorensen (our Intentional Interim Senior Pastor) will lead the 8 AM and 10:15 AM services on October 19. Pastor Ron Roschke (Assistant to Bishop Gonia of our Rocky Mountain Synod; Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) will be Guest Preacher at each Service. Special instrumental music will adorn each liturgy. The Rite of Healing is open to everyone (open, not required). It will include Prayers, the Laying on of Hands, and Anointing with Oil. Members of St. Luke Church Council will host receptions after all services those two days.

_______

A Hymn Festival at 5.30 PM on Sunday, October 19th will conclude the 60th Anniversary celebration events. Community and church members will join in singing familiar hymns led by the pipe organ and combined choirs of St. Luke and St. Paul. A highlight of the festival will be the alternation of great music of the church with moving and introspective meditations narrated from Susan Palo Cherwien’s Crossings: Meditations for Worship. St. Luke Women of ELCA will host a reception after this event.
