<%@ Language=VBScript %> Welcome to St Luke's Preschool & Kindegarten Page

Cutoff dates: Birthday cutoff dates for enrollment purposes are firm. The cutoff for two year olds is 2 by September 1st. A child enrolling in a straight age class (like a 3 year old or 4 year old class) must be 3 or 4 by September 1st. Many families find that the multi-age class offers more age flexibility. The cutoff date for Kindergarten enrollment has been extended to age 5 by October 15th.
Refunds: All registration fees are non-refundable. The only exception to this policy is if the class you have requested is not available. If this is the case, you will be contacted and your second choice will be offered. Fees will be returned if you do not get the classes you have requested.
Billing: The tuition amounts are billed monthly and are due by the 10th of each month. There is a $10 late fee for payments received after the 10th of the month. The monthly bill is based on the following fees:
*Class tuition
*Extended care fees
*Drop-in fees ... figured to the full hour
*Any late payment fee
*Any late pick-up fees
FEE BREAKDOWN:
See School Enrollment Contract form for:
  • Price quotes for the varied schedules offered
  • Drop-in fees
  • Late payment fees/late pick-up fees
  • Sibling discount amount
Monthly tuition and fees do not change based on absences or holidays
Financial Assistance: Partial scholarships are available to families for the regular school year (excluding summer months) for all classes except Kindergarten. Families must submit an application and return it with the registration materials. Typically, one third of the tuition amount is awarded. Ask the office manager or director for an application. St Luke does accept State funded children.
Class Schedules: A variety of class schedules are offered in order to provide flexibility to school families. Straight age group settings (twos, threes and fours) will enroll children on a part-time or full-time basis. A 5/4/3/2 day schedule is available in most of the classroom settings this year, with one exception:
*the Pre-K class: is a 5 day only class ... you must enroll Mon thru Fri,
hours can be either 9 AM to 1 PM or 9 AM to 3 PM
Please refer to the School Enrollment Contract form for more information about class choices and tuitionrates.
Kindergarten: This year the cutoff date for enrollment into this class is age 5 by October 15th. If your child is not 5 by September 1st, placement in a first grade setting the following year is not guaranteed, nor will it be recommended by the K team. September's tuition amount must be paid at the time of registration, along with the registration fee. This is a non-refundable fee and will be applied to September only.

Kindergarten students who stay all day will be combinded with the Pre-K students in the afternoons, and will be included in the enrichment programs offered at those times. See a description of the enrichment programs below.
Enrichment Programs: * Music is offered to all classes each week by a music teacher. Classroom teachers supplement this program on a daily basis.
* Art is offered one afternoon a week for students who are enrolled in all day programs. This is a more formal and directed experience than children experience in their classroom settings. Students who do not normally stay all day can be scheduled into this activity by using the Drop-in feature of the program, based on availability.
* Dance is offered on afternoon a week also for students who are enrolled all day. Like with the art program, your child can be scheduled on a Drop-in basis, if s/heis not normally here in the afternoons.
* Spanish is offered once a week to the two older classrooms (K and Pre-K class) during the morning class hours.
Before and After Care: will continue to supplement school hours. We open at 7:30 AM and close at 5:30 PM. Families can sign up for any amount of time before 9:00 AM and/or after 3:00 PM as needed. This year we will charge one set price for the use of this time. whether you use 15 minutes a day or the total time available. It will be at the rate of $2.00 a day for Before Care and $3.25 a day for After Care. You will find these rates offer a reduction in price for families that need full time care compared to our 2004-2005 rates.
School Closures: St. Luke is not a 365 day a year facility. We closely follow the Albuquerque Public School (APS) schedule. The following days show when the school is closed:
  • Labor Day in September
  • Fall Break in October (the same two days APS schedules)
  • Veteran's Day in November
  • two days at Thanksgiving
  • two weeks over Christmas
  • Martin Luther King Monday in January
  • President's Day in February
  • Spring Break (one week)
  • three days between the end of the school year in May and the beginning of the summer session
  • Memorial Day in late May
  • July 4th
  • several days between the end of summer session (August) and the beginning of the fall session
Summer Camp We offer Summer Camp experiences each summer which is a new feature to our program. There is a $30 non-refundable registration summer fee for families that are not enrolled for the school year. If just enrolling for summer camps, there is a $10 per camp registration fee. If you have already paid the $110 registration fee, there is no additional fee for summer enrollment. Camps are from 9AM to 3 PM and cost is $250 per two week camp session.
Sibling Discount: A 15% discount on the monthy tuition for classes will be given to families with more than one child enrolled during the regular summer session. The highest monthly tuition will be at full price. Fees for Before and After Care, Drop-ins, and Summer Camps are exempt from the discount.
One More Thing! This year we are offering an incentive to currently enrolled families who refer families to our school. If that new family enrolls, both families will receive one week's worth of free "extended care". Just report this to the office and we will document the agreement. Families may use the free care in any combination they like (Before Care or After Care), anytime they like throughout the school year.
