The Traditional Liturgy of Holy Communion, following the order of
the ancient mass, occurs each week at 10:15 a.m. Appreciating the long-held traditions of the Lutheran Church, the crucifer and the Processional Cross lead the worship leaders into the nave, signaling the presence of Christ himself in our worship.
But our liturgy is anything but stilted and old. Many liturgies are used, making our worship varied and exciting, while holding it firmly within the trusted expression of the historical Church. Augmented with joyful singing and the beautiful sounds of the Cassavant pipe organ, we offer our best to God in praise and thanksgiving. God has blessed us beyond measure a fact we celebrate
over and over again.
And this time of worship is not just for adults. Each week a special "Children's Sermon," led by a special team member, is shared with the children as they gather at the foot of the chancel. Even the youngest ones find something to appreciate and enjoy.
This traditional late morning liturgy is the largest of the three worship services held each week at St. Luke. With a strong emphasis on preaching and scriptural interpretation, the service reaches its peak in the sharing of Holy Communion.
There is also a time of fellowship that follows worship. Food, drink and conversation end the morning with another kind of celebration the hospitality and welcome that is shared person-to-person. Everyone is valued and welcomed at St. Luke Lutheran Church!
