Informal Worship on Saturday afternoon allows you to come-as-you-are. When we get together at 5:00 p.m. the atmosphere is almost like a picnic.
St. Luke's Saturday Informal Service has been described as "the kind of worship service you would expect at camp!"
Is this the "Contemporary Service?" Yes, but it's more than contemporary. That term means something different to everyone.
The Saturday Informal Service features many of the newest worship songs as well as "old favorites." Singing is accompanied by an electronic keyboard and a couple guitars, while a song leader directs us through new songs you might not know.
Worship directions, as well as community announcements, are projected on a huge screen.
The children love it too. No one minds if they get up to move around or lie on the floor and color.
Held in the Fellowship Hall, St. Luke has the longest running Saturday worship service among Lutheran Churches in Albuquerque. We've been getting together each Saturday afternoon for the past eleven years.
